The Whitney Houston biopic premiered yesterday, January 17, 2015, on Lifetime. Angela Bassett, who in previous weeks responded to the criticism received over developing the story, directed the movie. Actress and model, Yaya DaCosta, who gained famed as runner-up in Cycle 3 of America's Next Top Model, played the role of the late Whitney Houston alongside Arlen Escarpeta, who played the role of Bobby Brown. After viewing the film, it appears that the cast members were selected with perfection. Both DaCosta and Escarpeta did an excellent job at bringing the relationship between Whitney and Bobby to life on the movie screen.

There were multiple scenes throughout the movie where DaCosta lip-synced some of Whitney's greatest hits as Deborah Cox, a Canadian R&B singer-songwriter and actress, effortlessly delivered the singing vocals. The performance scenes were very moving with the ability to bring tears because the movie felt so real. It was like watching Whitney back on stage and in action. In order to give credit where it is due, Angela Bassett and the team she worked with definitely created a memorable masterpiece worthy of being shared continuously for years to come. The movie captured Whitney's experiences while filming The Bodyguard, the birth of Bobbi Kristina, drug abuse, the long stream of successes in her music career, and her relationship with Bobby Brown.

It was definitely heartfelt to see DaCosta and Escarpeta act out the high-profile relationship of Whitney and Bobby. There was never a doubt that the love shared between the two was very strong. Each of them possessed characteristics that worked in a manner to bring a great deal of happiness to the other. Over the years, their relationship was heavily ridiculed in the media. However, those on the outside looking in do not always understand the happiness that is sometimes shared between two people. At the end of the day, Whitney and Bobby appreciated what they found in each other, which allowed them to tie the knot at a beautiful wedding. Their marriage lasted for a total of fifteen years and ended in the year 2006. The reenactment of the wedding in the Lifetime movie is very touching and was delivered in a very elegant manner.
